Youth Programs & Camps - Lake Wales Care Center

In order for a community to grow and be vibrant, we understand that developing youth plays an integral role in any community. Lake Wales Care Center offers several opportunities for such growth.

Check out our youth programs below:

Youth Coffee House

Toy World “Youth Coffee House” is a place where middle and high school youth can gather on Friday nights from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM for FUN, FOOD, and FELLOWSHIP!

Toy World is located at the heart of downtown Lake Wales at 205 E. Park Ave. It’s easy to find on a Friday night – just look for the bright lights, music, and teenagers in various clusters inside and outside the building.

All youth are welcome and will quickly find that Toy World is a place where everyone belongs. Don’t be shy! Come and see for yourself how Toy World is the place to be on a Friday night!

Stay-at-Home Work Camp / Home Repair

Stay-at-Home Work Camp

This will be the 33rd year Care Center has hosted SAHWC. It started in 1985 with just a handful of individuals completing yard work for their neighbors. Their goal back then was to provide services to homeowners who ordinarily could not afford such services. It has since evolved into four week-long sessions, each with about one hundred campers and counselors, yet the goal remains the same. The campers stay at a Lake Wales facility, either Camp Endeavor or the h.e.a.r.t. Village. During the day, campers visit local homeowners and complete various home repairs, including painting, yard maintenance, and yes, even roof repair.

2018 dates and registration for SAHWC will be available next spring. Campers can expect to work hard, enjoy down time with each other, and grow together during worship and devotion.

This is not the only time Care Center facilitates home repair projects. In fact, qualified homeowners can receive home repair help throughout the year for everything from leaky faucets to wheelchair ramps. Small repairs are completed by skilled volunteers, while large projects are reserved for groups and camps.
